J. Taylor Billingsley

Founder, Director, & Chief Technology Officer

As Founder, Director and Chief Technology Officer, J. Taylor Billingsley leads JBB Advanced Technologies’ mining strategies and operations, as well as the ongoing research and development in blockchain technology.

Taylor entered the renewable energy industry for Sunfinity Renewable Energy in 2018, doing business development and analysis. During that time, he observed the ways that distributed generation technologies, such as solar, are inhibited by that way with which our electricity grid interacts with centralized generation and resale of electricity. Bringing way to a passion of pairing blockchain technologies and renewable infrastructures to create a more sustainable world.

Taylor graduated from Texas Christian University (TCU) with a Bachelor of Science, with a major in kinesiology and a minor in business. At TCU he participated in R&D as a research assistant for the Kinesiology Department, focusing on athletic performance under a variety of controlled experiments. Through the kinesiology department, he also interned for Hangar Clinic of Prosthetic and Orthotic, where he helped to create customized prostheses, braces, supports, cranial helmets, and other devices designed to increase patients’ mobility and activities of daily living.

Starting in his early teens, Taylor started using open-source GNU/Linux operating systems to redeem his curiosity for technology and figuring out how all the different components worked together. It was at this time he also started learning to use various coding languages and other network services.

As Chief Technology Officer for two renewable energy companies (Tri Global Energy and Sunfinity Renewable Energy), Taylor has been responsible for maintaining their various platforms and networks to maintain residential, commercial and utility scale renewable applications.
