John B. Billingsley Jr.

Founder, Chairman, & CEO

As the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of the Company, John brings over seven decades of successful entrepreneurship to the table. He is a revered pioneer in renewable energy development and operation, advocating the merger of innovative technologies like artificial intelligence and blockchain with sustainable renewable energy to pave the way for a better future for generations to come.

John's journey into business commenced at an early age. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and founded an accounting firm before turning 25. This firm grew into one of Texas’s largest independently owned CPA firms, later acquired by Arthur Young. In 1976, he acquired Western State Bank of Midland, presiding as its Chairman of the Board and President for six years, during which deposits surged from $10 million to $150 million. His success extended to real estate development, transforming 2.5 million square feet of mostly green-field space into office buildings, shopping centers, and a retail mall between 1978 and 1982.

John firmly believes in conducting business that benefits the planet. In 2009, he established and led Tri Global Energy, LLC, a pioneering renewable energy company specializing in utility-scale projects harnessing wind and solar power. His innovative approach involved landowners and community stakeholders as partners, significantly different from the conventional wind industry land lease model. By early 2021, Tri Global Energy became the third-largest wind developer in the United States, with projects spanning across Texas, Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wyoming.

In September 2022, Tri Global Energy was successfully acquired by Enbridge, Canada’s largest energy company, marking a significant milestone. John departed Tri Global Energy as part of the sale transaction.
